Heaven was born in Syracuse and decided to move to the Adirondacks for a change. She loves photography, trying diverse foods and meeting new people. In the fall, you can find her drinking tea and reading memoirs. In the Summer, you’ll find her listening to music live, most likely country. Heaven hopes her curiosity will continue to lead her to explore through her writing. She has been writing for the magazine for four semesters.
Sierra was born in California, moved to Massachusetts and then New York. She loves doing anything outdoors. Hiking, rock climbing and skiing are some of her favorite activities. Sierra loves writing about her adventures and photographing them too. She has been writing for the magazine for two years.
Clarice is a junior with a major in English: writing arts and a double minor in environmental science and Canadian studies. She moved to the Adirondacks when she was 14, and loves spending time exploring the peaks through hiking and camping. She loves traveling and exploring new cultures and cuisines. She also loves making art, road trip itineraries and being around animals. Clarice has been writing at the magazine for two years.
Mataeo Smith is associate editor semester. He is a newspaper journalism major with a minor in photography. This is his first semester working for DoNorth. Magazine writing instills a strong sense of creativity in him as a journalist and serves as a reminder to have a little fun with the story. When he’s not writing, Mataeo enjoys playing rugby in his free time.
Caitlin is a senior from Albany, NY and has loved the Adirondacks since a young age. Her love for the Adirondacks is what drew her to SUNY Plattsburgh and working on the DoNorth team. Caitlin has been a part of the DoNorth team for four semesters.

Elara is a junior at SUNY Plattsburgh, concentrating in graphic design with a complement in painting. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, drawing and running trails. Her love for the outdoors and visual storytelling is what drew her to DoNorth. This is Elara’s second semester with the magazine.
