Au Bord du Lac is a cozy lakefront bed and breakfast situated on the northwestern shore of Lake Champlain. The four-bedroom establishment in the village of Rouses Point sits back from the road a bit and offers seasonal views of the lake in every room. A large wrap-around porch offers visitors stunning views of the sunrise over Vermont’s Green Mountains and the lighthouse on Windmill Point. Owners Anne and Bill Carey offer a continental breakfast and serve coffee, tea, water and juice throughout the day.

Originally, the building was a private residence. It was later transformed into Monette’s Furniture Store and finally The Cedar Hedge Nursing Home before it transformed into a bed and breakfast.

Au Bord du Lac doubles as a community venue where visitors host business meetings, weddings, birthdays, bridal and baby showers, family reunions and holiday socials. The grandiose building is situated ten minutes from Vermont and minutes to the Canadian border ⎼ a 45-minute drive to Montreal.

Rouses Point is an active waterfront community, so Au Bord du Lac rests in the perfect location for a wide variety of year-round outdoor recreational activities and water sports, such as boating, paddling, ice fishing, cycling and hiking.

Whether passing through the quiet village of Rouses Point or enjoying a holiday away, curl up on the wrap-around porch with a cup of tea and watch the sunrise over the mountains. Au Bord du Lac is open year-round, so be sure to book your stay well in advance.
