Group biking offers endurance building and working toward a common goal. W.O.W., a new biking program, is ready to fulfill those things.

Made by Plattsburgh’s local Maui North, Women on Wheels of the North Country was made to service women to reach their biking goals. Maui North co-owner Kim Manion explained the group is for women with the goal of improving their bike riding ability, expanding connections and competing in Mayor’s Cup 20-, 50- or 70-mile ride.

They can be spotted at this year’s Mayor’s Cup Bike Ride July 12 wearing matching jersey shirts with the group’s logo.

Participant Teri LeeLaMora, 42, believes that Women on Wheels is an opportunity for women to share their passion of cycling and lead an active lifestyle. “As a member to the W.O.W program, I feel like I am going to enter the road cycling season with the health related knowledge, the training knowledge, and the support network I need to improve as a cyclist.”

“Really, the intent is not about weight loss,” Manion said about the program. “It is about becoming more fit.”

Come out to Plattsburgh and support these ladies hard work! They may even give out their own advice on their experience with biking.
